Changing Perspectives
So much effort and money can be wasted focusing on what we don’t have – it is easy to loose track of what we do have.
Do yourself a favour and take an inventory of all of your stuff.
Don’t evaluate each item, don’t sort into give away or keep, don’t think about what you don’t have – just record what you do have on paper.
Go to each room in your home and record your stuff – don’t forget to record your big outdoor stuff like cars.
For example:
- How many pairs of shoes do you have?
- How many pants/skirts do you have?
- How many sweaters do you have?
- How many shirts/tops do you have?
- How many suits/dresses do you have?
- How many jackets/coats do you have?
- How many beds do you have?
- How many dressers do you have?
- How many plates do you have?
- How much cutlery do you have?
- How much food do you have in your refrigerator?
- How much food do you have in your freezer?
- How much food do you have in your pantry?
- How many pots and pans do you have?
- How many couches do you have?
- How many chairs do you have?
- How many tables do you have?
- How many towels do you have?
- How many electronic toys do you have?
- How many phones do you have?
- How many computers do you have?
- How many TVs do you have?
- How many books do you have?
- How many … you get the idea.
Don’t quality your possessions by comparing them to other peoples stuff – just look at the list of what you have, and appreciate it all.
