David Sklar & Associates is hiring a full time, in person Assets Administrator in Toronto. Join our growing team and help support clients through the insolvency and bankruptcy administration process.

As one of Ontario’s leading Licensed Insolvency Trustee firms, we are looking to add a highly organized and detail oriented Assets Administrator to our growing team.
This is a full time, permanent, in person position based in our Toronto office. This role is not hybrid or remote and requires daily attendance in office to support collaboration, compliance, and efficient file administration.
The Assets Administrator plays a key role in the administration of bankruptcy and insolvency files by ensuring asset documentation, realization, secured claims, and payment compliance are handled accurately and in accordance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and OSB requirements.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, process driven environment and enjoys working with detailed file administration, client correspondence, and compliance management.
About the Role
The Assets Administrator is responsible for managing all asset related documentation and follow up within insolvency files. This includes reviewing disclosures, corresponding with clients and third parties, monitoring secured claims, tracking asset realization, and ensuring all records are maintained to compliance standards.
As departmental workflows evolve and become more streamlined, this role may also provide support to the Income and Expense Department and assist with bankruptcy payment compliance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Review, Correspondence and Documentation
- Review Statements of Affairs and supporting documentation to ensure all asset disclosures are complete and accurate
- Ensure documentation supports all asset disclosures and required Form 9, 10, and 11 facts
- Communicate with bankrupt individuals to obtain:
- outstanding asset details
- clarification regarding disposition or realization of assets
- information relating to any undisclosed assets identified during administration
- Correspond with third parties including financial institutions, employers, and insurance companies to confirm ownership, value, and disposition status of assets
- Prepare and send Form 76 requests for Proof of Security
- Enter secured proofs of claim and prepare release documents as required
- Ensure secured claims are properly documented, realized in accordance with legislation, and released once conditions are met
Asset Realization and Repurchase Management
- Follow up with debtors on the repurchase of assets
- Set up and monitor agreed upon payment schedules
- Diarize and track repurchase arrangements
- Confirm payments are received as agreed
- Track realization of assets from the estate for both secured and unsecured matters
- Ensure all supporting documentation is scanned, uploaded, and properly recorded in each file
Compliance and File Management
- Monitor and respond to communications within the Asset Department inbox
- Ensure timely handling of all inquiries and updates
- Maintain accurate and up to date records within the case management system
- Update all asset related fields to reflect file status
- Ensure completeness for internal audit and OSB compliance
- Prepare compliance summaries and reports as needed to confirm all required asset administration steps are complete
Cross Functional Support
As the Asset Department becomes current and workflows are streamlined, the Assets Administrator may support the Income and Expense Department by:
- assisting with data entry for self employed and regular income and expense reports
- reviewing and processing documents from I/E email folders
- collaborating with budget officers and proposal administrators
- ensuring income documentation is handled efficiently across departments
Bankruptcy Payments
- Review weekly bankrupt compliance requests for payments
- Contact bankrupt individuals regarding overdue payments
- Reschedule payments where requested
- Monitor discharge dates for each file
- Confirm completion of required payments
- Report defaults to the Team Lead for opposition where necessary

- experience in insolvency, legal administration, collections, or financial services is considered an asset
- familiarity with case management systems such as Ascend is preferred
- knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and OSB compliance requirements is a strong asset

Compensation & Benefits:

- Salary: $55,000 to $65,000 annually (based on experience)
